Altitude of a Prism Definition

The altitude or height of a prism is the distance between the two bases of a prism. It is the shortest line segment between the (possibly extended) bases. Altitude can also be used to refer to the specific length of this segment. The altitude of a prism is illustrated in the diagram below.
