Sistema internazionale di unità (SI) Definizione
Il sistema internazionale di unità, noto a livello internazionale dall'abbreviazione SI (Système International), è la forma moderna del sistema metrico
Panoramica
The SI comprises a coherent system of units of measurement starting with seven base units. These base units are the second (s) the unit of time, meter (m) for length & distance, kilogram (kg) for mass & weight, ampere (A) for electric current, kelvin (K) for temperature, mole (mol) for amount of substance, and candela (cd) for luminous intensity. The system can accommodate coherent units for an unlimited number of additional quantities. These are called coherent derived units, which can always be represented as products of powers of the base units. Twenty-two coherent derived units have been provided with special names and symbols.
